Spa & wellness — MarrakechA Marrakech spa filling its calendar with Meta and WhatsApp.
In Marrakech, a spa lives on two audiences: loyal locals and passing tourists. Webotic built a Meta + Google Business Profile + WhatsApp booking system that captures both, right at the booking. (Indicative figures, to be confirmed.)

The challenge · two audiences, no direct channel
A spa & wellness business in Marrakech has to win over two very different publics: loyal locals, sensitive to price and time slots, and French- and English-speaking tourists who often book last minute from their phones. Before the engagement, the venue relied on word of mouth and booking platforms that charge commissions and hide the customer contact. No direct booking channel was truly managed, the Google profile was incomplete, and social media posted with no acquisition logic. The result: an irregular calendar, weak visibility on "spa Marrakech" and a costly dependence on intermediaries. The goal was clear: build a direct, measurable and profitable channel to capture both audiences at the moment of decision.
- Dependence on word of mouth and commissioned OTAs.
- Two distinct targets: locals and FR/EN tourists.
- Incomplete, low-visibility Google Business Profile.
- No direct booking measured or steered.
The approach · Meta, GBP and WhatsApp serving the booking
Webotic deployed a system centered on direct booking. On Meta and Instagram, two campaign tracks were split: geo-targeted local campaigns on Marrakech in Darija and French, and French- and English-speaking tourist campaigns activated by season and incoming flights. Every ad led to a WhatsApp Business conversation, the natural channel in Morocco, with template replies and proposed slots to convert fast. In parallel, the Google Business Profile was optimized — photos, services, reviews, hours — to capture "spa Marrakech" and "massage Marrakech" searches. Retargeting re-engaged profile and site visitors who had not booked, with treatment and ritual offers. Everything was measured via the Meta pixel and a Looker Studio dashboard tracking cost per booking.
- Separate Meta campaigns: locals vs FR/EN tourists.
- Direct booking via WhatsApp Business, template replies.
- Google Business Profile optimized for local search.
- Retargeting of unconverted visitors, Looker Studio tracking.
The results · a full calendar at lower cost
In six months, the system transformed the spa's acquisition. Cost per booking dropped 43% thanks to the direct WhatsApp channel, which avoids platform commissions and shortens the journey. Booking volume grew 185%, driven both by local campaigns and by a tourist clientele that now represents 45% of bookings, up from a marginal share at the start. Qualified WhatsApp messages were multiplied by 3.1, feeding a more regular calendar even in low season. The Google Business Profile, better rated and more complete, now ranks on local searches and feeds a free flow of requests. The spa finally has a direct, measurable channel that depends less on intermediaries. (Figures to replace with final values.)
- Cost per booking −43% via direct WhatsApp.
- +185% bookings over six months.
- Tourist share raised to 45% of bookings.
- 3.1× qualified WhatsApp messages, steadier calendar.
Before, we were at the mercy of platforms and their commissions. Now customers message us directly on WhatsApp, locals and tourists alike, and our calendar stays full. We finally know where our bookings come from.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Why use WhatsApp rather than a booking form?
- In Morocco, WhatsApp is the natural contact channel, for locals and many tourists alike. A direct conversation reassures, lets you propose a slot immediately and answer questions (treatments, prices, availability). Conversion is clearly higher than with a classic form, and the venue keeps the customer relationship with no commission.
- How do you target both locals and tourists?
- We split Meta campaigns into two distinct logics. Locals are geo-targeted on Marrakech, in Darija and French, with offers tailored to regulars. French- and English-speaking tourists are targeted by season and travel behavior, with messages in French and English. Each audience has its own visuals, offers and separately tracked cost per booking.
- Is a Google Business Profile really useful for a spa?
- Yes, it's a major local lever. Many tourists search "spa Marrakech" or "massage Marrakech" directly on Google Maps. A complete, well-rated profile with up-to-date photos and services captures those searches for free and sends visitors to WhatsApp. It's a durable acquisition channel that complements the paid campaigns.
- How long before you see results?
- The first bookings arrive within the first weeks of the campaign, once targeting and messaging are calibrated. The ramp-up on cost per booking and tourist share builds over two to three months, the time needed to gather data, optimize audiences and feed retargeting. The results shown here cover six months of engagement.
