01

The challenge · niche demand, invisible and multilingual

Geissmann distributes technical products the general public doesn't know by name: diatomaceous earth (a mineral insecticide and filtration agent), activated charcoal, bleaching earth for oil refining, industrial conveyor belts. The demand exists — professionals, manufacturers and farmers actively search for it — but it is niche, fragmented and multilingual. One buyer searches « terre de diatomée maroc », another « diatomaceous earth maroc », a third the Arabic equivalent. Three structural problems blocked the capture of this demand. First, the brand was almost unknown: nobody searched « Geissmann » by name, so the battle had to be won on category queries, not on brand awareness. Second, marketplaces and a few generalist resellers held the top positions on the highest-volume terms, with poorly specialized listings. Third, the technical catalogue wasn't structured for search: local buying intent (« … maroc », « … casablanca », « … price ») wasn't covered, there was no internal linking between product families, and title and meta tags were generic.

  • Niche technical products, unknown to the public — no brand demand.
  • Demand fragmented across French, English and Arabic queries.
  • Marketplaces ranking on high-volume terms with weak, generic listings.
  • Catalogue not structured for SEO: local intent not covered.
02

The approach · win the category, not the awareness

Rather than chasing illusory traffic volume, the call was to dominate the few high-intent queries. First decision: an exhaustive semantic audit of category queries in Morocco, across the three languages of demand (French, English, Arabic), to map exactly what buyers search for and with which words. Second decision: restructure category and product pages around these local intents, creating dedicated pages for the most-searched variants (« terre de diatomée maroc », « charbon actif maroc », « bleaching earth ») rather than one catch-all page. Third decision: concentrate the domain's authority on high-value technical terms through structured internal linking across product families, instead of diluting it. Fourth decision: systematically rework title tags and meta descriptions to maximize click-through, on both brand and category queries. What we rejected: chasing generic, high-volume keywords with no buying intent (« charcoal » alone, « filtration »), where the cost of ranking is high and conversion is low.

  • Semantic audit of Morocco category queries in FR, EN and AR.
  • Dedicated pages for local buying intent rather than a catch-all page.
  • Internal linking to concentrate authority on valuable technical terms.
  • Reworked titles and meta to maximize CTR (brand + category).

The results · position before volume

In a niche market, the right metric isn't raw volume but position on the queries that matter. Geissmann now ranks on Google Morocco's first page for most of its category queries: average position 2.4 on « bleaching earth », 4.4 on « diatomaceous earth maroc », 6.3 on « terre de diatomée maroc », 6.4 on « charbon maroc ». On the brand query (« geissmann maroc »), the site sits at position 1.1 with a 60% click-through rate — a dominant presence whenever the brand is searched. The quarter generates around 700 qualified organic visits and over 20,000 Google impressions, a stable, recurring presence in a market measured not in millions of searches but in precise buying intents. Several long-tail queries even rank in position 1, proof that the internal linking and page specialization are paying off. One identified, quantified growth lever remains: « activated charcoal » and « charbon actif maroc » accumulate high impression volume but still rank low (23.7) — a priority optimization target for next quarter.

  • Top 3 in Morocco: « bleaching earth » #2.4 · « diatomaceous earth maroc » #4.4.
  • Brand query « geissmann maroc »: position #1.1, 60% CTR.
  • ~700 qualified organic visits and 20,000+ impressions per quarter.
  • Next identified lever: « activated charcoal » (high volume, position 23.7).

Webotic transformed our visibility on products nobody searched for by our name. Today, when a professional looks for diatomaceous earth or activated charcoal in Morocco, we're the first they find — and these are genuinely qualified leads.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is SEO worthwhile for a low-volume niche market?
Yes, and that's exactly where it pays off most. In a niche market, every captured query maps to a precise buying intent. Ranking 1-3 on « bleaching earth » beats massive unqualified traffic: acquisition cost is zero (no media) and conversion is high, because the buyer knows exactly what they're looking for.
How long to see SEO results in this kind of market?
On technically low-competition niche queries, first positions are won within 2 to 4 months after restructuring the pages. Consolidation into the top 3 and position stability set in over 6 to 9 months. The upside: once earned, these positions are durable because few players invest in this ground.
Why optimize in French, English and Arabic?
Because demand is trilingual in Morocco. The same product is searched with different words depending on the buyer: « terre de diatomée », « diatomaceous earth » or the Arabic equivalent. Covering all three languages captures demand that a single-language site leaves entirely to competitors.
